What a beautiful weekend it was in Michigan. WOW! Perfect autumn weather...sunshine, blue skies, warm enough for shirt sleeves at times. Color was perfect...just before the "peak" when everything is red/orange/yelllow. I like it when there's still lots of green in the mix, it makes the reds seem so much more brilliant. There was a gusty wind which made painting a bit of a challenge due to paint drying out quickly, having to stop to hold everything down or run to pick up stuff, but we managed fine. Time went so fast, we just blinked and the day was almost over. That's the way it is when your in you "zone"....totally relaxed and having fun!
Here are some pics.

Okay, true to my neverending expectations I tend to put on myself....I managed 50 paintings instead of the 100 goal I had set. If we had gotten out and set up earlier than noon or so, I could have done it. But, sometimes a little extra sleep is necessary on a weekend following a really busy work week which includes travel. It was a good day in spite of not meeting my piece count goal. What I DID end up with is some really good color combinations and little sketches for some larger works! So I DID meet that goal. In looking at some of the paintings, many would make a really good "recipe template" for a scrapbook page! So, I'm happy with the results.

I'm very appreciative of Ellison/Sizzix for their commitment to spotlighting their artists and making sure their customers get to know the artist's behind the product. From my dealings with them, this is a company to watch. They are moving in such a wonderful direction! And what nice people they are, which I get so excited about! For anyone coming to CHA for the winter show, please stop by their booth and say hello to me. I'll be there meeting people and showing off our new line of products!
get crackin...you've got to make room for all that Christmas stuff coming your way!
