Welcome, the studio doors are OPEN! Come on in- see where myself and some of my art licensing friends create the art that goes on products of all sorts! We've scrubbed, dusted, organized, decorated and hidden the ugly piles - all for your visit!
I actually have two studios - one is at home, in the basement where the walls are currently under construction. I call that my "dry" studio - it's where my computer, office and sewing/crafting area is.
But the place I LOVE is my painting studio, exactly one mile from my house. It's a sunroom on the back of a house. My friend owns the house but hasn't moved in yet. He's single and is glad to let me rent this 28'x30' space. It's absolutely perfect for my needs and Paisley loves it too. The house is in a fly-in community with a grass airstrip where my husband keeps his plane. Each house has it's own hanger - we rent one of the hangers next to this house.
This is where I sit and enjoy a cup of tea in the afternoon. Although my studio isn't heated, it warms up by mid-day if the sun is shining. Even though yesterday it was freezing here in Atlanta, my studio was actually too warm. In the summer, I can raise the windows and where the house sits, it will catch a nice breeze.
The house sits at the end of a long lane which is next to a horse stable. There are trails along the creek so Paisley and I take several walks each day. She also loves to run on the runway...that's what it's for, right?
Here's the entire list of open studios! I hope you enjoy getting to know some of my art licensing buddies and seeing where the magic happens ; ) Thanks for visiting!!!
