Owl project with Sucerie Papers

Happy Saturday! I'm off to the mall to find a new coat today but before I go, I wanted to post this picture of my latest owl, made from my newest collection, Sucerie.

I stitched a little flower on each wing to add a nice little bit of detailing. I've been making these owls for a while now, I have about 12 of them sitting around the house. It only takes about 10 minutes to make one and they're so much fun! I'll be posting the pattern after I return home from my upcoming trip.

I'm bringing over the most wonderful chipboard and frame kit! It's made using the new SUCERIE collection of paper designs so it coordinates and works wonderfully with the papers. It's a "must have" item! Here's just one of the many samples I'll be showing on air next week. The little sweetie-pie is my friend Lora's baby girl, so precious!

I made this to be a wall hanging but it folds up to also be a little mailable mini-book!

So, make one up, send it off to Grandma and she can proudly hang it up for all to admire! Notice the felt accents? They're from the DIE CUT FELT KIT, and yes, you'll want this one too. I love the soft quality felt adds to any project. You can even stitch or if you're like Sue Bubbles, you could add beading to it too. 

While this sample is very "baby", if you turn it over to the reverse side, it totally changes and becomes neutrals with small accents of color...you'll see an example of that on air also. The SUCERIE collection isn't all girly, there are plenty of neutrals and even masculine hues so no worries there. 

Why did I name it SUCERIE? Well, in French, Sucrerie means sugar. I changed the spelling so that just in case there was already another collection using that name, I wouldn't get in trouble. It's getting harder and harder to come up with names for collections that haven't already been used! We have to start making up words and spellings!

another sneek peek...

I'm bringing a new "Clear and Chipboard" minibook kit to the U.K. next week. Take a look at the project that Amie made using the kit as it was intended...

I wanted to show another use for it so "engineered" this little goodie to help me keep organized on my desk. I can never find my envelopes, stamps, etc. when it's time to mail something out so maybe this will help! Take a look...I'll put directions up on the blog after my trip across the pond.

a sneak preview...

I've been super busy crafting away projects for the upcoming BP QVC hour and just have to give you a sneak peek at some of the projects I'll be showing on air. The project here is a message board I made using some of my newest paper designs and two of the overlays from the OVERLAY KIT. The dimensional flowers I made using the SUCERIE PAPER KIT and my Sizzix Die, "Flower, Wedding". (The ribbon and rhinestones are not included in any of the kits.) You can use any flower dies or punches you wish, but of course, I prefer this one!

If you saw my house today, I would die of embarrassment. really. It's like my studio vomited to the upstairs! We only have one table which is right off the kitchen and it is covered, as is the floor, the kitchen countertops, the two bar stools, the coffee table in the adjoining living room...I've taken over the entire house with project making! I'm not one to "clean as I go"...I want to have all my stuff in front of me when I work so I can see it and grab it quickly. I always remind hubby that things have to get ugly before the beauty emerges!

Because tonight we change back to standard time, I've designed this clock kit for you to print off and use as an embellishment or to mount onto chipboard, add a working clock mechanism and enjoy. Here's where you can get the mechanism. Walnut Hollow or any craft supplier.

You will need to open this is Photoshop or Photoshop Elements, then print onto a 12x12 white or cream paper, and mount onto mat board, chip board or a cut piece of wood such as masonite. The leaves can serve as the "hands" or use the hands that come in your purchased clock mechanism. 

I'm going to make one up tonight, I'm sure I've got a clock mechanism here in this studio somewhere. need to go digging!
